Anti-corruption agency of Tajikistan denies reports about caches with millions belonging to ex-employees

AKIPRESS.COM - anti-corruption officerChairman of the Agency for State Financial Control and Fighting Corruption of Tajikistan Sulaimon Sultanzoda denied reports  about bags of money and gold found in former employees' houses, according to the written response to the request.

Sultanzoda confirmed the arrest of ex-employees in his letter, but he refused to comment claiming investigation of the criminal cases has not yet completed. He said the case is under investigation of a special investigation group.

The head of the anti-corruption agency also denied reports that $35 million were allegedly found in the house of parents of ex-deputy head of the agency Davlatbek Hairzoda and $1.3 million and 6 kg of gold in the house of former investigator Firuz Holmurodzoda.

Sultanzoda denied reports about the found bunker with bags of dollars and gold belonging to former employee Firdavs Niyozbadalov as well.

A number of former employees of the anti-corruption agency of Tajikistan were arrested in late April of this year. According to sources, the arrest of 7 employees has been confirmed.
