20 policemen fired due to overweight in Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan  started fighting against overweight in the law enforcement agency again. Twenty employees of the Ministry of Interior of Tajikistan were dismissed due to the excess weight, the local media reported.

Interior Minister, general Ramazon Rakhimzoda explained that there are certain norms and they must comply with them. "The policemen should have a corresponding look," he noted.

Rakhimzoda told Sputnik that some employees did not meet the requirements of the police. "We have dismissed them."

The Minister also explained that over the past 6 months, 20 people have lost their jobs in the police due to this problem. Some employees could not lose weight in a short time, Rakhimzoda added.

A police officer's weight should not exceed 75 kg (170 cm).

Several employees were able to bring themselves into proper shape after they had been warned.
