Kazakh PM discusses cooperation with IMF

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with the International Monetary Fund's Mission Chief for Kazakhstan Mr Mark Horton.

They discussed cooperation with the IMF on macroeconomic and fiscal policy, and the activities of the banking sector.

They also discussed implementation of the large-scale programs such was Nurly Zhol, 100 Concrete Steps, privatization program, and Astana International Financial Centre.

"At the moment, Kazakhstan does not plan to borrow from the IMF. The focus of the country's interaction with the Fund is shifted towards attracting technical assistance, taking into account the IMF's experience in working with the best consultants in the world in the field of macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policy," the statement from the press service of the Kazakh prime minister said.
