A bomb exploded on March 5 at an alternative gas pipeline on the crossroad of the coastal international road of Egypt and road from Port Said to Damietta, Egypt Independent reported.
Explosive experts went to check the bombing site. No casualties were reported.
Preliminary investigations showed that the blast caused a 20 cm hole in the pipeline and that huge catastrophe could have happened, but the perpetrators placed the bomb next to the alternative pipeline, which was empty, instead of the main pipeline.
The experts added that the bomb is a primitive one that is different from the ones used in similar explosions of gas pipelines.
Policemen are combing al-Qabouty area, which is near to the blast area and is the stronghold of the fugitive Muslim Brotherhood figure Akram al-Shaer, and south Port Said villages.
