President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the Security Council on March 6, RIA Novosti reported citing press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
The meeting discussed the situation in Ukraine, as well as Thursday's decision of the Supreme Rada of Crimea to appeal to the President of Russia and the Federal Assembly on possible joining to the Russian Federation.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin, Head of the Kremlin Administration Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Federal Security Service Nikolai Patrushev, Minister of Interior Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu, Head of the Federal Security Service Nikolai Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, as well as permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov participated in the meeting.
