The State Duma of the Russian Federation has ratified yesterday a federal constitutional law on Crimea's and Sevastopol's annexation to Russia, and on the transition period of the integration of new entities of the country.
A referendum on the status of Crimea was held on March 16. More than 96% of Crimeans voted for the republic's annexation to Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted two documents to the State Dume on March 19: a draft law on ratification of the treaty between Russia and Crimea, and a draft federal law on Crimea's annexation and formation of new entities within the Russian Federation (the Republic of Crimea and the city of federal significance Sevastopol).
