Radical Ukrainian group ends standoff with police, surrenders weapons

AKIPRESS.COM - right sector Ukraine's Interior Minister said that members of a radical nationalist group have surrendered their weapons and left a downtown hotel, StarTribune reported.

Arsen Avakov wrote on his Facebook Tuesday that members of Right Sector left the Dnipro Hotel in Kiev they had commandeered as their headquarters, got into buses and headed to a suburban camp.

Their departure followed a shooting spree in the capital, in which a Right Sector member shot and wounded three people, including a vice mayor of Kiev. Police then surrounded the hotel.

Right Sector played a key role in the ouster of Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych, but fell out with the new government and besieged Parliament for a several hours demanding Avakov's resignation following the killing of one of their leaders.
