Kyzylorda region will open new direct flights to Russia, Turkey, China and the UAE, Kyzylords press service reported.
The construction of a new passenger terminal with the capacity of 150 passengers per hour was planned by the regional administration in 2013. Despite delayed start of the construction works, representatives of domestic and foreign companies show great interest in opening international flights from and to Kyzylorda.
“The feasibility study and the draft documents have already been prepared, acting director of the regional passenger transportation and roads Bakytbek Zhuparbekov said at the media briefing.
According to the preliminary data, the cost of the project will be 6.2 billion tenge ($34 million). The completion of the project is expected by 2015 year end.
