Vladimir Putin held talks with President of China Xi Jinping in Shanghai, the press service of the Russian president said Tuesday.
The conversation was preceded by an official ceremony when the two presidents presented their delegations. Later, the negotiations continued in expanded format, to cover a broad range of issues on the bilateral agenda.
Following the talks, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping signed a Joint Declaration of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on the new stage of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The two presidents also witnessed the signing of a package of intergovernmental, interdepartmental and commercial documents on cooperation in the economy, trade, energy and the humanitarian areas.
