Malaysian firms finalising talks on $1bln new Astana International Airport project

AKIPRESS.COM - matrade_logo_300_160_100 Malaysia's LIA Consultancy Services and TRC Synergy Bhd are finalising discussions with the Astana mayor's office on the construction of the proposed $1 billion new Astana International Airport, the Malaysia's national news agency Bernama said.

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Deputy Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dzulkifli Mahmud said KLIA Consultancy Services would be collaborating on the development of the new airport project.

The company would also be working with TRC Synergy Bhd on the project, which covers preliminary engineering design, plan, profile drawings and estimated construction and maintenance costs of the project, he said here yesterday.

KLIA Consultancy is involved in the project management and business advisory services while TRC Synergy is an investment holding company, with its subsidiaries engaged in construction and property development.

On another development yesterday afternoon, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak witnessed the exchange of MoU documents by two Malaysian companies, namely CIDB Holdings and Nurali Group (a Malaysian-owned company), with their Kazakhstan partners.

CIDB Holdings and Kaznex Invest are involved in the construction industry, while Nurali Group and its partner, Galaz and Company LLP, are engaged in the oil and gas sector in the North Konys oilfield in the Kyzylorda region.

At the event, CIDB Holdings was represented by CIDB Chief Executive, Datuk Seri Prof Dr Judin Abdul Karim, and Kaznex, by its Chairman, Yerlan Arinov, while Nurali Group by its Executive Director, Ahmad Rahizal Ahmad Rasidi, and Galaz and Company LLP by its General Director, Nurzhan Shaikenov.
