AKIPRESS.COM - Manuel Uribe, 48, once known as the world's heaviest man, has died, according to the media reports.

Uribe, who was admitted at the hospital days ago, died as a result of abnormal heartbeat.

Despite how doctors tried to save his life, he died yesterday, May 26, at Hospital Universitario in Monterrey.

The late Uribe once weighed 88 stone or 558.8 kg which earned him Guiness Book of Records World's Fattest Man.

However, he suffered health challenges and was bed ridden for nine years before his death.

Due to health challenges, he was said to have slimmed down to 62 stones or 393.7 kg and married Claudia Solis in 2008.

Although his death was confirmed by local health workers and doctors however, the cause of his death hasn't been revealed.
