AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan men’s team in rapid chess won gold and women’s team won silver and bronze medals in the Cup of Asian Nations held in Iran, the press service of the Chess Federation of Kazakhstan said.

Chief coach of the men’s chess team Serikbay Temirbayev said  the Kazakhstani team defeated the Vietnamese team at the semifinals. In the final match, Kazakh team has rooted the Chinese team with a score of 2.5 vs 1.5, and became the champion.

The Cup of Asian Nations was held in Tabriz, Iran, from May 20-30. The program included classic, rapid, and fast chess.

Kazakhstan men’s team was successful in rapid chess, and women’s team took the 5th place of the cup.
