AKIPRESS.COM - Ashgabat hosted the 4th session of the Turkmen-Korean Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, which was attended by heads and representatives of the leading ministries and departments of the two countries, Turkmenistan.ru reported.

The meeting discussed issues relating to implementation of the agreements reached earlier and recommendations of the 3rd session of the Turkmen-Korean Intergovernmental Commission.

The participants called for diversification of cooperation within new opportunities in trade and economic sphere, the fuel and energy complex, transport and communications sector, construction and agriculture.

The sides also discussed cooperation in the energy sector. They highlighted the importance of projects for oil and gas processing, production of high quality plastic and other types of gas chemical products, training of staff for the petrochemical complex.

The sides outlined the priority areas of cooperation, including electricity, wind and solar energy, agriculture, transport and communication sector.

Members of the commission spoke in favor of expanding educational and scientific contacts and the cultural dialogue. They stressed the importance of strengthening ties in the sphere of art, including theater, dance, folklore and ethnography. They also necessitated cooperation in the field of cinematography.

They also called for establishment of contacts between the national Olympic committees, sports federations and societies of the two countries.
