Russia to launch its Proton-M rocket from Kazakhstan's Baikonur Oct 21

AKIPRESS.COM - 0fa26beef54d930f7955011dc0000d69The next Proton-M with a Briz-M booster will lift off from Baikonur, Kazakhstan, on October 21, the Federal Space Agency said on Wednesday.

The Proton will orbit the Russian satellite Express-AM6, which was brought to Baikonur on May 26 and went through pre-flight checks, reports ITAR-TASS.

This will be the second Proton launch after an accident in May this year. The first successful launch took place on September 28 when the Russian satellite Lutch was orbited.

A Proton-M rocket with the satellite Express-AM4R aboard launched from Baikonur burst into flames in midair.
