Kazakhstan has signed a contract for the supply of 3 thousand tons of Azerbaijani gasoline AI-92 to Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the Azerbaijan media report.
The contract was concluded in October with an international company Lanturno Management SA, which will deliver Azeri fuel through Russia.
Kazakhstan has already paid the full cost of the contracted. However the gasoline was not delivered in time.
Physical delivery of the fuel is expected after the adoption of Kazakhstan's Government's decision "On some issues of petroleum market stabilization".
Kazinform previously reported that Kazakhstan holds talks to supply AI-92 gasoline from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, China and other countries.
Three large refineries - Pavlodar refinery, Atyrau refinery and Shymkent refinery - operate in Kazakhstan and their total processing volume nears 13 million metric tons.
According to statements of the Energy Ministry, it has been decided to postpone the scheduled repair at the Shymkent refinery to February, March or April of 2015, in order to provide the domestic market with fuels and lubricants.
NOTE: Lanturno Group is a privately owned group of companies which started in 2003. Through its oil and coal divisions, Lanturno deals with a large panel of commodities, though mainly focusing on the energy sector.
