Russia, Turkmenistan to expand cooperation in trade, agriculture

AKIPRESS.COM - oil Russia and Turkmenistan are planning to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade and agriculture with Russia supplying Turkmenistan with agricultural equipment and training the local professionals, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said Saturday, following the session of a bilateral commission on trade and economy, reports RIA Novosti.

"There is a great and yet untapped potential in the sphere of agriculture. This is the main agreement reached on this meeting regarding the trade, the investments, the equipment supplies and the training of professionals. We plan to significantly broaden the scale of our cooperation, our [relevant] departments have already received such signals," Dvorkovich said.

According to Dvorkovich Russia will purchase food products from Turkmenistan and supply the country with Russian-made agricultural equipment. The sides also discussed training the Turkmen agriculture professionals in Russia.
