Belarus has suggested that Russia should escort the products included in its import ban list across its territory up to Kazakhstan, Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus Leonid Zayats told BelTA on 2 February.
Commenting on Russia's statements accusing Belarus of allowing sanctioned vegetables and fruits to get into Russia, the minister noted that these are mainly the products that go in transit to Kazakhstan via the territory of Belarus.
“To avoid misunderstanding in the future and to prevent accusations of cheating, we suggested pooling the vehicles destined to Kazakhstan in one place and then escorting them to the Kazakhstani border with the help of the Russian special services,” Leonid Zayats said. However, Russia has not responded to this suggestion yet.
Leonid Zayats emphasized: “Our actions in respect of the Russian Federation are honest. We do not want to undermine the trust of the Russian service”.
