The second meeting of the Turkmen-Croatian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation has been held in the premises of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on February 4-5, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The delegation of the Republic of Croatia was headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development and EU funds, co-chairman of the commission from the Croatian side Branko Grcic. The agenda of the forum covered a wide range of issues that touched upon the different areas of bilateral cooperation.
The sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the first meeting held on March 31st – April 1st, 2014 in Zagreb. Stressing that for the period since last meeting, it is observed the intensification of the Turkmen-Croatian dialogue on a number of key areas; the sides noted the importance of the activation of the Intergovernmental Commission for the development of mutually beneficial investment projects and expand cooperation in trade and economic sphere, fuel and energy sector, transport and communications.
Mutual interest in expanding cooperation was emphasized in the cultural field, especially in the fields of science, culture, education, sports and tourism.
As part of the exchange of views, the parties expressed confidence that the current meeting of the Commission will promote further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Croatia.
By agreement of the parties, the next session is expected to be held in 2016 in Croatia. At the conclusion of the second meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Croatian commission for economic cooperation the final protocol has been signed.
