AKIPRESS.COM - Israeli soldiers on Tuesday morning shot dead a Palestinian young man near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, a Palestinian official told Xinhua news agency.
An Israeli army force broke into Deheisha refugee camp in the south of Bethlehem amid intensive gunfire, said Jibrin al-Bakri, the governor of Bethlehem.
"Several soldiers went up to the roof of one building in the camp and opened ransom fire, killing a 19-year-old young man who went out from his house to see what is going on," al-Bakri said.
Meanwhile, witnesses said the young man was not involved in any clashes with the Israeli soldiers.
"He was just killed in a cold blood by careless Israeli soldiers," said al-Bakri, who described what happened as "another crime added to the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against our Palestinian people."
No immediate comment were made by Israeli army on the incident.
The killing of the young Palestinian is the third one since the beginning of this year. Another two men were killed separately on Jan. 31 and Feb. 14 near Bethlehem, according to al-Bakri.
