Tution fees in Kazakhstan not to change

AKIPRESS.COM - students Tuition fees at the universities of the country will no change this year, said Acting Director of the Higher Education Department at the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan Serik Omirbayev.

Tuition fees in Kazakhstan cannot exceed the amount of the government scholarship for the same major, he noted.

"Tuition fees at universities will not change connection with the transition to free floating currency," said Omirbayev.

"Within the 100 Steps Plan aimed to implement five reforms proposed by Nursultan Nazarbayev, we have selected 10 colleges and 11 universities, which will be the basis for the development of higher education in the country. 10 billion tenge were allocated for establishing of laboratories, and 962.1 million tenge - for the development of new educational programs," he added.
