U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet Monday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, officials said Thursday.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Putin requested the meeting, and Obama accepted.
The Presidents are expected to discuss Ukraine and Syria issues.
"When the president sits down with President Putin, the top item on his agenda will be Ukraine," Earnest said.
