Bill Gates still the richest person in America and world

AKIPRESS.COM - Gates Forbes’ annual list of the richest Americans is out with combined worth of the nation’s wealthiest citizens of $2.34 trillion.

The average net worth equals $5.8 billion, the least worth among the top 400 makes $1.7 billion.

Nothing much has changed at the top of the rankings as Microsoft founder Bill Gates is still the richest person in America and the world. He's worth $76 billion, down $5 billion from last year.

Warren Buffett places second in the U.S, followed by Larry Ellison with $47.5 billion.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos jumped to no.4 from no.15 last year. Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg made the top 10 for the first time as well at no.7. His worth is $40.3 billion.

The co-founder of messaging app SnapChat Evan Spiegel is now the youngest billionaire in the world – he’s just 25 years old (and co-founder Bobby Murphy is a prehistoric 27 years old). His worth is $2.1 billion.

Meanwhile, Uber founder Travis Kalanick saw the largest percentage gains in worth in the past year.

Four billionaires on the 2014 list have since died. That includes North Texas philanthropist-investor Richard Rainwater, who died last week at age 71 from a rare neurological disorder. He still appears on the 2015 rankings since Forbes 400 looks at a snapshot of U.S. billionaires from Sept. 11.
