The Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens (HAWT) has held its XVIII conference in Ashgabat. Representatives from 16 countries took part in the conference, reports Turkmenistan.ru.
The official opening ceremony was attended by members of the government, the Mejlis, ambassadors of Turkmenistan to foreign countries, representatives of public associations, honorable elders, members of the mass media, etc.
Delegates from Afghanistan, Belarus, the UK, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Sweden arrived in Ashgabat to attend the All-Turkmen forum.
The conference participants heard a report on the activities of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens, accounting for 27 branches in 14 countries with more than three hundred of collective and hundreds of individual members, including 400 from foreign countries.
Other reports informed the conference participants about the activities of the Turkmen diaspora in Afghanistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The conference participants praised Turkmenistan's policy of peace and humanism as exemplified by Turkmenistan’s support to the socio-economic revival of Afghanistan, funding of construction of schools in Jilikul district of Khatlon region of Tajikistan, in the village of Funtovo of Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, a preschool institution in the village of Chishmikioi of the autonomous territory of Gagauzia in Moldova, etc. The HAWT activists were awarded diplomas during the conference.
