Trade unions of Belarus, Mongolia sign cooperation agreement

AKIPRESS.COM - cooperation12 The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB) and the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) signed an agreement on cooperation. The document was signed during a visit of FTUB Chairman Mikhail Orda to Mongolia, BelTA reports.

During the visit, Mikhail Orda met with President of the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) Amgalanbaatar Khayankhyarvaa. The colleagues from Belarus and Mongolia discussed the bilateral cooperation, interaction between member organizations, shared experience in collective regulation of labor relations.

The sides signed a cooperation agreement which provides a range of measures to promote interaction, including provision of free legal assistance to the FTUB and CMTU members, the development of the trade union education and tourism.

The trade union leaders agreed to expand contacts between sectoral trade unions of the agro-industrial complex, railway workers, transport and communications.

During the visit, the head of the Belarusian delegation also met with Sainkhuu Ganbaatar, Member of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia, and officials of the CMTU sectoral trade unions. Mikhail Orda got acquainted with the work of the trade union organization of the Gobi factory which is the world's fifth biggest producer of cashmere products. The issues of development of cooperation in trade union education were discussed during meetings with representatives of the CMTU Trade Union Learning Center and the Mongolian Institute of Labor and Social Relations. The cooperation in the field of culture was considered during a visit to the Trade Unions Central Palace of Culture of Mongolia.

The Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) is a national trade union center in Mongolia. It was founded in 1927 as the Central Council of Mongolian Trade Unions. Today, the CMTU is the largest federation of Mongolia bringing together about 450,000 trade union members, comprising 14 sectoral federations and 22 regional trade union associations.
