Beineu-Shymkent-Bozoi gas pipeline starts commissioning

AKIPRESS.COM - natural gas KazTransGas JSC has officially launched the Beineu-Shymkent-Bozoi  gas pipeline at the section of Beineu-Bozoi.

This gas pipeline will supply domestic natural gas from western deposits to the southern part of Kazakhstan.

“Commissioning of the pipeline is historic because it combined all gas pipelines of the country into a single gas transportation system. This has enabled to diversify gas transportation through the territory of Kazakhstan in any direction and completely get rid of import gas dependence,” Chairman of the Board of KazTransGas JSC Kairat Sharipbayev said during the launching ceremony on November 20.

The pipeline has opened 5 months earlier than expected; its commissioning was set for April 2016. KazTransGas has said that it managed to save about 150 billion tenge on construction.

This pipeline will supply gas to 577 settlements in the southern regions of the country, the company said.
