KazTransGas has put Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline into operation

AKIPRESS.COM - 5D3_6257 KazTransGas JSC national company of Kazakhstan said it has commissioned the third branch of Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline on the eve of the Day of the First President, the national holiday in the Central Asian country to hail Nursultan Nazarbayev.

It is the last stage of the project’s implementation, the company said. This C part of the pipeline is 1,303 km long.

The gas transport capacity of all the parts of the Kazakhstan-China pipeline - A, B and C branches - is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

The final C branch was constructed by more than 4 thousand specialists, said chairman of the board of KazTransGas Kairat Sharipbayev.

In 2008-2015, more than $ 1.2 billion were allocated from the state budget for the implementation of the gas pipeline project, he added. 

The Kazakhstan-China pipeline is a part of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China cross-border gas pipeline of 7,500 km.

The C part of the pipeline runs through South Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, and Almaty regions.
