Turquoise Hill Resources announced the appointment of Brendan Lane as Vice President, Operations and Development effective February 1, 2016. Lane brings 25 years of industry experience including metallurgical, mine engineering and commercial roles at Rio Tinto, Anglo American and BHP Billiton, reports FinanzNachrichten.
Jeff Tygesen, Turquoise Hill Chief Executive Officer, said: "Brendan's extensive engineering and commercial background will be extremely valuable to Turquoise Hill and we are delighted to have him join our team. Working with the project team, he will play a critical role in the further development of Oyu Tolgoi."
Since 2013, Lane has served as Minera Escondida Limitada and Grasberg Finance Director at Rio Tinto Copper. In this capacity, he provided strategic guidance and decision support to operational management teams with joint venture partners BHP Billiton and Freeport-McMoRan.
