Chinese producers last week announced an increase in export prices of $30/ton for acetylene polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for March deliveries to Russia and Kazakhstan, according to ICIS.
Producers from the north of China announced an increase in export prices for acetylene resin for shipments in March in Russia and Kazakhstan compared with the February level on the back of rising PVC price in the domestic market.
At the same time, Chinese producers said they temporarily cannot ship the resin in containers by rail way.
Prices for acetylene PVC increased to $650-680/ton DAP Dostyk from 10 March, while resin for February delivery ranged $620-650/ton DAP Dostyk.
March deals for container shipments by direct train to the Moscow region were discussed in a range of $680-700/tonne CIP. However, because of the lack of sufficient number of containers Chinese producers temporarily refrained from this kind of PVC supplies.
