Turkmenistan celebrates Day of Constitution and Magtymguly’s Poetry

The festive events began with a flower laying ceremony at the Monument to the Constitution that was attended by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, reports Turkmenistan.ru.

The ceremony was also attended by members of the government, the Speaker and members of the Mejlis (Parliament), the heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, as well as the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to Ashgabat, foreign businessmen and representatives of public associations and enterprises of the capital city.

Then, the head of state laid flowers at the Monument to Magtymguly Fragi in the square named after the poet, located in the historic center of Ashgabat. The Magtymguly Square is one of the most visited memorial sites of Ashgabat. It is also a traditional place of meetings of workers of art and culture. On this day, Turkmen writers, poets and lovers of literature gathered in the square to take part in the festivities dedicated to the great Fragi.

Flower laying ceremonies to Magtymguly monuments, festive concerts by artists and other festive events were held in all the regions of Turkmenistan.

President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on Day of Constitution and Magtymguly’s Poetry. In his congratulatory message, the head of state noted that this national holiday embodies the people’s special commitment to continuous connection between historical landmarks and generations, to the great values ​​of humanity and the principles of peace and creation.
