UAE's Al Qubaisi visiting Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates, is on an official visit to Kazakhstan – and then Russia – from May 29 to June 4 in order to discuss issues of common interest, according to Irish Sun.

The FNC delegation includes members of the Parliamentary Friendship Commission, Abdul Aziz Abdullah Salem Al Zaabi, Second Deputy Speaker of the FNC, Dr. Saeed Abdullah Al Mutawa, Jamal Mohammed Al Hai and Khalfan Abdullah Salem Humaid bin Youkha and Afra Rashid Al Basti.

The visit to Kazakhstan comes in response to an official invitation by Baktykozha Izmukhambetov, Speaker of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan to Dr. Al Qubaisi to participate in an International Conference to be hosted by Kazakhstan entitled, "Kazakhstan's way to a nuclear weapon-free world", to mark the 16th anniversary of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site's closure. The symposium will be organized by the country's Foreign Ministry.

The delegation is going also to participate in the 1st meeting of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between the two councils, which aims to activate and develop the existing relations between the two countries and strengthening parliamentary relations, as well as to briefed on the experiences of both countries through activating bilateral visits so as to contribute to the coordination of visions on various issues through the participation in international parliamentary events.

The event will be attended by high-ranking representatives from the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, Kazakh lawmakers and Cabinet Ministers, the heads of scientific and research centers concerned with nuclear non-proliferation, diplomats and members of international organizations, and local and foreign journalists.
