Turkmenistan-funded new medical facility inaugurated in Afghanistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Maternity ward signA maternity hospital was inaugurated in the village of Turgundi in Herat province of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The construction of the new medical facility was funded by Turkmenistan as humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, reports Turkmenistan.ru.

In accordance with the decree by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, a special motorcade with humanitarian aid was delivered to Afghanistan to replenish the stock of the new medical facility with relevant materials, medicines and other medical supplies.

A team of Turkmen doctors and nurses was also sent to Herat province to organize operations at the new medical facility and provide training to local medical staff.

The new medical facility includes an admission room, functional diagnostics rooms, antenatal, maternity and post-natal departments, an operating unit and a laboratory.
