AKIPRESS.COM - Wheat harvesting has started in Turkmenistan. The grain growers have got down to harvesting in four provinces of Turkmenistan - Akhal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary. The farmers of Dashoguz province - the most northern region of Turkmenistan – will join the campaign a week later.

This year, Turkmenistan’s grain growers are expected to harvest 1.6 million tons of winter grain crops from 760 thousand hectares.

In total, 1 562 harvesters will be used in the current campaign. Maintenance service will be provided round the clock by 350 portable mechanical-repair crews.

Local branches of the State Commercial Bank “Daikhanbank” (Farmers Bank) have been tasked to ensure timely payments to grain growers, reports Turkmenistan.ru.
