Islamic State attacked crowded areas of Baghdad on Thursday killing at least 24 people in two separate bombings.
A car loaded with explosives blew up near a cinema in a busy New Baghdad neighborhood of the Iraqi capital, leaving at least 14 people dead and setting nearby shops ablaze, Iraq’s Interior Ministry said, adding that most of the casualties were women and children, WSJ reports.
In another attack, the entrance of the Al Taji military camp in northern Baghdad was targeted with a suicide bombing that killed 10 people, including four soldiers, it said.
