AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong arrived in Mongolia last week for an official visit. It was the first visit ever by a Singaporean Prime Minister since the establishment of diplomatic ties with Mongolia in 1970.
While in Ulaanbaatar, Lee joined the welcome lunch by his Mongolian counterpart Jargaltulga Erdenebat, who has been earlier appointed following the parliamentary elections in the country.
The sides mentioned development of cooperation in the fields of mining, education and tourism.

Further, Lee Hsien Loong paid a courtesy call to Chairman of the State Great Khural Miyegombo Enkhbold.
During their meeting, Enkhbold confirmed that Mongolia is interested in development of mutually beneficial economic and trade ties. He said the two countries have great potential of cooperation in mining, energy, education, information technology, banking and finance sectors.
Lee also agreed that the two nations possess prospects for cooperation in various sectors, including energy and issues related to visa-free regime for both countries.
