Mongolia tent districts grow despite modernisation

Low-interest mortgages have failed to entice them to move into modern apartment buildings, and the ger suburbs are growing.

Many Mongolians say the new houses are too expensive and that they will continue to live in their old coal-fired homes, not connected to any running water or sewage pipes.
