AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan's Nijat Rahimov won a gold medal in weightlifting and broke men's 77kg world record on August 10 in Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games 2016.
His total weightlifting result was 379 kg.

China's Lyu Xiaojun, who set a world record of 177kg in the snatch, also lifted a total of 379kg but took silver because he is heavier than Rahimov. Egypt's Mohamed Mahmoud won bronze with a combined 361kg.
Rahimov was born in Azerbaijan and recently moved to Kazakhstan to compete on its weightlifting team.
