AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on June 28 received founder of the Russian oil company Lukoil Vagit Alekperov, who is on a working visit Uzbekistan.

Alekperov during the talks expressed willingness of the company to further bolster cooperation in the oil and gas sphere, the President's press service reported.

The two reviewed implementation of the existing and preparation for the future long-term projects. A special attention was paid to the new projects aimed at deep processing of produced natural gas, as well as cooperation in training highly qualified personnel.

Lukoil is one of the leading oil and gas corporations in the world, which successfully realizes a number of large investment projects in Uzbekistan. To date, the volume of attracted investments of Lukoil for joint projects in oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan amounts to $6.3 billion.
