Tajikistan writes off debts to Iran, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan wrote off the debts to Iran, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan over the last years, according to the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan, Avesta reported.

To date, China is the largest creditor of Tajikistan. The debt of Tajikistan to this country exceeded $1,217,600,000 since the beginning of this year followed by Saudi Arabia — $44.9 million, Kuwait Fund — $38.7 million and a government of France — $24 million.

The debt size of Tajikistan during the reported period makes $1,380,500,000.

Among the largest creditors of Tajikistan are international institutions, including the World Bank — $299.9 million, the ADB — $227.5 million, the Islamic Development Bank — $111.9 million and the International Monetary Bank — $101.1 million.

The total size of the country's external debt as a result of the first half of 2017 amounted to $2,303,400,000.
