Tajikistan to celebrate Eid al-Adha on September 1

AKIPRESS.COM - The Council of Ulems of the Islamic Center of Tajikistan announced a date of celebration of the Idi Qurbon (Eid al-Adha).

According to them, Tajikistan like other Muslim countries will mark this holiday on September 1, Avesta reported.

The holiday namaz (prayer) in all mosques of the country will be performed at 6:30 am local time on September 1.

Imams of the mosques are recommended to underline the piety, alms to orphans and poor people while performing their prayers.

As a rule, Muslims on this day start the holiday with prayer in the mosques, then they visit the graves of relatives and visit houses of relatives and friends.

The Eid al-Adha is the second of two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year. It honors the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, as an act of submission to God's command, before God then intervened, through his angel Jibra'il (Gabriel) and informs him that his sacrifice has already been accepted.
