AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Tajikistan, according to Director of the Strategic and Regional Research Institute under the President Vladimir Norov posted on Facebook.

"The delegation of Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Mirziyoyev has been actively preparing for the visit and strengthening ties with all neighboring countries," he said.

According to Norov, the leadership of Uzbekistan has made several official and unofficial meetings with heads of all neighboring countries over the past years.

In late October, Presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan exchanged congratulations on 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Emomali Rahmon said that a friendly Uzbekistan is among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Tajikistan during the difficult period of becoming of the country as a sovereign state.
