AKIPRESS.COM - The U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan is already involved in the investigation of the terrorist attack in New York City.

"The State Department is closely monitoring the situation. We are referring all questions about the investigation to the FBI and the New York Police Department. We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and our prayers for recovery to those affected by this terrible act of terrorism in New York City," the Embassy said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Embassy has not commented on media reports that the terrorist Sayfullo Saipov won the green card lottery and moved to the U.S.

8 people were killed, more than dozen of others were hospitalized after a 29-year-old Saipov in a rented truck on Tuesday drove into a Manhattan bicycle lane.
