
AKIPRESS.COM - Parliament of Kyrgyzstan passed the law on denunciation of the agreement between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Kazakhstan on providing $100 million technical aid to Kyrgyzstan.
105 MPs voted for, 1 against the adoption of this bill. 106 MPs were present at the Thursday plenary session, Tazabek reported.
The deal was signed on 26 December 2016 in St Petersburg and supposed allocation of technical aid to Kyrgyzstan by Kazakhstan to help adapt to the Eurasian Economic Union.
The denunciation was initiated by the Government of Kyrgyzstan, which asked the Parliament to consider it in urgent and extraordinary manner.
The bill aims to denounce the protocol on the order of providing assistance and control over the use of aid, the protocol on technical assistance signed in St Petersburg and Moscow.
Earlier in October, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, commenting on the huge traffic jams on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border after Kazakhstani side switched to enhanced mode of operation from October 10, said that Kazakh authorities are reproaching Kyrgyzstan for giving $100 million in aid. "Frankly, we don't need this aid. We've been waiting for this aid for 10 years and it has not even come, we should decline aid for sure," Atambayev said.
