AKIPRESS.COM - “There is the cheapest electricity in the world in Tajikistan and we should use it efficiently, reduce electricity losses,” President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said while addressing to the Parliament of the country, local media report.
“We have the cheapest electricity in the world – only $00.1 for 1 kilowatt. In Europe, 1 kilowatt of electricity costs $0.3. Please, use the electricity rationally, pay for it on time and this will be your help to the Government and yourself,” Rahmon said.
The head of state reminded that the electricity in 1990s was provided to the population once a day. The power cuts occurred even in Dushanbe, he said.
“Now we overcame this crisis. The situation is being improved every year,” he noted.
Rahmon ordered the Government to take measures on control over the rational use of the electricity, restructuring of Barqi Tojik and reduction of electricity losses.
