AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov at the meeting with residents of Jumgal district of Naryn region on January 10 announced this year as a Year of Development of Regions.

According to the Office of the President, the decree on announcement of 2018 as a Year of Development of Regions signed by President on January 9 will become a basic document of development of the regions.

The head of state said a basis for systematic changes in development of regions should be launched in 2018, although this will require a joint effort of all power branches and a civil society.

Jeenbekov noted that the main attention should be paid to creation of new jobs in the regions, which will lead to the reduction of internal and external migration processes.

The changes will be made in the sphere of road and transport infrastructure, support of the export potential of the regions, creation of conditions for support of small and medium businesses, attraction of investments and etc.
