
AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Mongolia Unkhnaa Khurelsukh received U Sung, Ambassador of South Korea to Mongolia, who has completed his mission.
"There was much contribution of the Ambassador to organize regular high-level visits between two countries and expand trade and economic relations. The two countries agreed to elevate bilateral relations into strategic partnership level, during last January’s visit to RoK," the PM was quoted by Monstame as saying. He appreciated S.Korea and its people for rendering supports to Mongolia to overcome economic difficulties.
For his part, the Ambassador said “Mongolia’s government and Foreign Affairs Ministry are working to expand bilateral ties and cooperation. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh’s visit to S.Korea was timely and effective that the two sides made agreements on many issues and issued mutually beneficial resolutions.”
“Since Mongolia started implementing the Extended Fund Facility arrangement of IMF, its economy is reviving and showing positive outcomes. S.Korea’s soft loan will be used on measures to reduce air pollution. Within this frame, a feasibility study on the construction of thermal power plants in 10 aimags is complete and the constructional work will commence this autumn. S.Korean government stands for effective and punctual implementation of the projects and programs,” the Ambassador added.
Moreover, the dignitaries exchanged views on other issues, including the ties between private sectors and people-to-people of the two countries and cooperation in tourism.
