
AKIPRESS.COM - Presidents of Uzbekistan and the U.S. Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Donald Trump signed contracts worth $4.8 billion in Washington during the meeting, the Uzbek President's press service said.
The two expressed their willingness to find ways to deepen economic cooperation that promoted trade and job creation in both countries, the report says.
They agreed to study opportunities for closer cooperation, including in the fields of agriculture, energy, chemistry, finance, tourism, textiles, health and digital technologies.
The leaders signed more than 20 largest agreements between the Uzbek and American companies.
Mirziyoyev expressed Uzbekistan's desire to become a member of the World Trade Organization. While Trump said his country will provide support and technical assistance in this process.
