More than a dozen children injured after knife attack at kindergarten in China

AKIPRESS.COM - More than a dozen children have been injured after a woman with a knife launched an attack at a kindergarten in China, Sky News reports.

Chinese police reported that 14 children were attacked early on Friday at the Yudong New Century Kindergarten in the Banan district of Chongqing, a large city in the west of the country.

The attacker was a 39-year-old woman only identified by her surname, Liu, the local police said on China's version of Twitter, Weibo.

She has since been arrested.

The woman is believed to have been carrying a kitchen knife.

The injured children have been taken to hospital, with some seen on eyewitness video being taken away on hospital beds.

After the woman was taken away, video showed police fending off a crowd of people who appeared to be parents.
