Beekeeper from Talas treats bees like pets

AKIPRESS.COM - The resident of the Sheker village of Kara-Buura district in Talas region Esenbek Kaziyev is a beekeeper.

46-year-old Kaziyev has been doing it for 24 years and is planning to keep new species of bees, Turmush says.

According to Kaziyev, he began his business in 1995. He bought his first bees from a beekeeper from a neighboring village. “I was forced to suspend this business, but now I resumed it. My father and son help me. This is a small family business,” said Kaziyev.

Currently, there are 10 hives and each of them has 4-5 bee groups. Experienced beekeeper says that bees need regular attention and care just like pets. They need vitamins and syrup (sugar with water).

“This year, we have 70 liters of honey as rains affected the harvest. We keep these bees from the Soviet times. He consume the final product ourselves, share with relatives and sell. The price of 1 liter of honey is 300 soms,” said Kaziyev.
