President receives Korean immigration service commissioner

AKIPRESS.COM - President Kh.Battulga received Cha Gyu-geun, Commissioner of Korea Immigration Service of the Ministry of Justice, the Republic of Korea, who is visiting Mongolia these days on August 22, Montsame reports.

At the beginning, President Kh.Battulga mentioned that the most of Mongolians living abroad are in the ROK and they are counted around 46 thousand, and requested to pay attention on eliminating and facilitating some barriers for Mongolians traveling to the ROK.

Mr. Cha Gyu-geun’s visit to Mongolia makes a significant progress in facilitating the travel of Mongolians. Barriers faced by Mongolians in getting ROK visa are expected to be resolved thanks to the collaboration of relevant organizations of the two countries in accordance with ‘Means to accelerate the ROK visa check period and implementation plan’. With the use of state information exchange ‘Khur’ system, visa applicants who are less likely to be illegally residing are expected to be able to get Korean visa within ten days.

The President expressed his confidence that the time is close for Mongolians to travel Korea for tourism purpose but not for employment as it rapidly develops industry and increases jobs. He added that Korea’s summer is very hot, so Korean tourists need to travel to Mongolia to see its vast steppe and enjoy a stargazing.
