Hundreds gather in Bishkek main square to celebrate Independence Day

AKIPRESS.COM - Ala-Too Square hosts a festive event on August 31 to mark Kyrgyzstan's 28th Independence Day.

More than 1,000 people gathered for the event.

President Sooronbai Jeenbekov is expected to address the gathering.

Ministers, politicians, ambassadors of different countries, etc. are in attendance. 

The Independence Day is the main state holiday in Kyrgyzstan. It is celebrated annually on August 31, the anniversary of its declaration of independence in 1991.
